Left on the doorstep of an orphanage run by nuns, newborns Moe (Chris Diamantopoulos), Larry (Sean Hayes) and Curly (Will Sasso) grow up finger-poking, nyuk-nyuk-nyuking and woo-woo-wooing their way to uncharted levels of knuckleheaded misadventure. Now their childhood orphanage which is run by a group of nuns led by Mother Superior (Jane Lynch), Sister Rosemary (Jennifer Hudson) & Sister Mary-Mengele (Larry David) may have to close due to financial difficulties. But Larry, Curly and Moe, employed as the foster home’s inept maintenance men, are determined to come to the rescue. They go into the city for the first time to try to come up with $800,000, but bumble their way into numerous adventures. When they meet Lydia (Sofía Vergara), she convinces the stooges to murder her husband Teddy (Kirby Heyborne) in exchange for the cash. Along the way, Moe finds himself starring with the cast of Jersey Shore.
This movie would probably suit guys and kids. There is tons of slapstick humour with lots of eye poking, sledgehammer bashing & countless hits to the groin. I found myself chuckling at many of the scenes, along with my 7 year old son. But my wife was fast asleep beside us, she just called it – ”boy humour”. Jane Lynch was surprisingly very kind in this movie as Mother Superior, a far stretch from her sinister role as Sue Sylvester on the hit show, Glee. Larry David played a very funny nun, and the Stooges played their role very well. I`m not sure why the Jersey Shore cast needed to be in the movie though. Possibly for more star power? Their acting wasn’t the greatest.
Overall, I would give this movie a 5/10 stars. It was funny, but a type of silly-funny. Check it out. Happy Viewing.
