Here’s another blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor

Just watched The Descendants (2011), starring George Clooney (Ocean 11), Shailene Woodley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) & Matthew Lillard (Scooby-Doo)

With his wife Elizabeth King (Patricia Hastie) on life support after a boating accident, Hawaiian land baron Matt King (George Clooney) takes his daughters: Alexandra King (Shailene Woodley) & Scottie King (Amara Miller) on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the Brian Speer Matthew Lillard) man who was having an affair with Elizabeth before her misfortune.

I wasn`t a big fan of this film.  The pacing was pretty slow and the story relatively predictable.  It felt like the movie built up so much potential, but failed to release it at a certain point during the movie. The whole movie, for me, felt too introductory in nature. Not necessarily the plot, because the plot does evolve, but the overall “feel” of the movie felt preliminary to a bigger and more dramatic event which never happened. What unfolds is hour upon hour of the family walking on beaches, driving down roads, etc., all of which culminates in a kitchen scene where Matt King confronts the Brian Speer, about the affair.  Then it’s back to the hospital to watch Mom die

Overall, I would give this movie 4/10 stars.  Wait for the television debut.  Happy Viewing!
