Here’s another blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor…
In this movie, Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is the only person in the land fairer than Ravenna, the evil queen (Charlize Theron). Unable to tolerate the insult to her vanity, the Ravenna decides that Snow White must die. The queen sends a Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) to kill Snow White. However the Huntsman finds himself unable to murder the innocent young woman, and instead ends up training her to become a warrior capable of threatening the queen’s reign.
This movie had a lot of potential, but ended up fizzling at the end. I wasn’t sold on Kristen Stewart’s performance. Her scenes seemed awkward, similar to the awkward Bella Swan she portrays in her Twilight Saga movies. She seemed stiff in most scenes and hardly ever smiled. There was also a weird Twilight-like love triangle in this movie between Snow White, the Huntsman and William (Sam Claflin), Snow White’s childhood friend who tries to rescue her. Similar to Edward + Bella + Jacob, you don’t know who she should end up. The movie itself also had too much of a Lord of the Rings feel to it, rather than the Snow White fairy tail it was trying to portray. There was even a scene where dwarfs, a man with an axe and an archer were escorting Snow White through the forest. Plus, there was a great Lord of the Rings battle scene where a castle was stormed. I did like Charlize Theron`s character in the film. She played an excellent evil queen, which was much better than Julia Robert’s evil queen in this year’s Snow White rival movie, Mirror Mirror.
Overall, I’d give this movie 6.5/10 stars. It’s worth checking out. Happy Viewing!
