Here’s another blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor…
In this movie, Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz. He meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity-and even a bit of wizardry-Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
What I liked: Oz the Great and Powerful was a stunningly visual film. Although, the first 15 minutes was in black & white, once Oscar entered the Land of Oz the colours and scenes were amazing. The film was also quite funny. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but more cute-funny. Mila Kunis did a great job in this movie. She started out as an innocent & naïve, happy-go-lucky witch, and once she ate the apple, she was transformed to the evil, green, wicked witch. Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams also did fantastic jobs at portraying the Evil Evanora & Glinda the Good.
What I didn`t like: James Franco was pretty goofy in this movie. His big goofy smile got quite annoying as the movie went on. The story didn`t really keep my attention as the movie went on. I found myself dozing off near the end of the movie.
Overall, I would give this movie 5/10 stars. Check it out. Happy Viewing
