Here’s another blog by a Mississauga Chiropractor…

Last night, I just watched a lovely wedding video posted on YouTube.  The Bride and Groom had plans to get married in Vegas, but unknown to the Bride, was the fact that the Groom had been secretly planning their wedding behind the Bride’s back.

Here is the video – Operation White Cake

End

This wedding video made me think of my own “Wedding Proposal Day”.  Our first date was a “library date” back in the 12 grade, so I wanted to “pop the question” at this very same location (Mississauga Central Library).  I had a plan where I told Maria (my wife) that my buddy Justin wanted me to pick up a library book for him because he lost his library card.  It was an important book, so he hid it in a secret spot in the library, and he drew me a map of where to find it.  Maria was supposed to help me find the book for Justin.  What she didn’t know was that instead of the book, it was her Wedding Ring that we would find.  The Ring Hunt was also set up so that the first map would lead to clues to a second map, and then a third, until we came to the final spot where the ring would be hidden.  The entire Ring Hunt would also be videotaped.

A fool-proof plan right?  Well, not quite.  I had planned the Ring Hunt on Oct 13, exactly a year and a half before I wanted to get married (I wanted our Wedding date to match our Anniversary date).  What I didn’t know was that Oct 13 was also Thanksgiving weekend, so unfortunately the Library was closed.  We discovered this on the morning of the Ring Hunt.  Bad planning on my part, I guess.  Well, it was time for Plan B.  Right next to the Mississauga Central Library was Mississauga City Hall, Justin and Monica (my accomplices) called me and asked if they can rearrange the maps & clues to suit City Hall instead.  I agreed.

When Maria and I pulled into the library, she was hesitant to get out of the car.  She thought it was dumb that Justin was making me get his book.  She reluctantly came out of the car and we walked to the front door of the library.  Taped on the front door was a note from Justin with a map attached to it.  I can’t remember the exact wording anymore, I just remember that the message was in riddle form and it rhymed.  I asked Maria to help me figure out the riddle.  We ended up going to City Hall to find another rhyming message, which brought us to a third.  The final message brought us to this White Gazebo in a garden.  The ring was on a bench under the gazebo.  Justin and Monica were hiding in the bushes with a video camera.  Maria saw the ring, and that’s when I proposed.

So, thanks to Justin & Monica, the proposal was a success.  Just another day in the life of a Mississauga Chiropractor, (well I wasn’t a chiropractor yet).
