Here’s another blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor…

On Saturday February 23rd, 2013, the evening before my New Orleans Marathon, Maria and I were in search for an Italian restaurant for my carbo-loading last supper.  This is when we came across Irene`s Cuisine located at 539 St. Philips Street in the French Quarter.  Irene`s is a neighbourhood bistro visited by many New Orleans locals, but not on the usual tourist radar.  We found Irene`s to be a happy place with very friendly waiters.  It has a tavern feel, loud and fun, in an old French Quarter building.

Irene`s is a combination of French Provincial and Italian cuisine.  The smell of garlic meets you at the door.  While Irene`s offers some very creative pasta dishes, the empasis is on meat and seafood.  Irene`s only takes limited reservations if space is available, which it usually isn`t.  Luckily for us, we decided to take in an early dinner, and arrived at Irene`s around 4:30pm before the running crowd arrived.

There wasn`t any spaghetti on the menu, but luckily for me, they were able to accommodate me.  They just added the spaghetti to the 2 jumbo meatballs, that was in the appetizer portion of the menu.

Overall, my meal was quite good.  One of the best spaghetti and meatball meals I`ve had in a long time.  I would give Irene`s Cuisine, 8/10 stars.  Just another day in the life of a Mississauga Chiropractor
