On Tuesday Dec 25, 2012, Christmas Day, we took the boys & grandma to see Disney on Ice at the Roger’s Centre.  The show started at 4pm sharp, so we made our way to Downtown Toronto, excited to see our first ice show.  As we made our way down to our seats, we spotted some “seat bandits” sitting in our spots.  We showed them our tickets and politely asked them to move.

Soon, the lights dimmed and the show began.  Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy each sprinted onto the ice to introduce the show.  They presented Mater, Lightning McQueen & two other cars to the stage.  This was probably the lamest part of the show.  The cars just circled the ice then started weaving around the rink.  They were not really skating, just driving around.

The next performers were better.  Ariel, Sebastian and Founder from The Little Mermaid came out and skated around.  The story they told was how Ariel was trying to get her legs from Ursula the evil octopus.  Ariel had to kiss Eric before the sunset or else Ursula would take Ariel`s voice forever.  The next show starred Tinkerbell and the other fairies of the forest.  This part of the show was kind of a snoozer.  The fairies just skated around with Tinkerbell trying to save the season spring.

The intermission was next where we got hotdogs and ice cream for us the boys.  Mason was concerned that we were going to miss the second part of the show.  So he quickly pulled me back to our seat early.  He was very excited to see that Toy Story 3 was the next attraction.

They had Woody the Cowboy, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie the Cowgirl, Bullseye the Horse, Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, Rex the Dinosaur, Hamm the Pig, Slinky the Dog, Barbie, Ken, Stretch, Lotso the Bear, the Toy Soldiers and Andy.  They basically re-enacted the movie with the toys being shipped to Day Care, and Lotso keeping the toys prisoners there until Woody breaks them free.  There was also a funny dance number between Ken & Barbie, re-enacting the changing of the clothes sequence that occurs in the movie.

Overall, we had a great time at Disney on Ice and I would give the performance 7/10 stars.  Just another day in the life of a Mississauga Chiropractor
