Here’s another blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor…
In Canada, a writer (Rafe Spall) visits the Indian storyteller Pi Patel (Irrfan Khan)and asks him to tell a story. Pi tells the story of his life since he was a kid in Pondicherry, India and the origin of his nickname. One day, his father Santosh Patel (Adil Hussain) who owns a zoo tells the family that his business is not good and he had decided to move everyone to Canada and sell part of the animals in the United States of America. They travel in a Japanese cargo ship with the animals and out of the blue, there is a storm followed by a shipwrecking. Pi (Suraj Sharma) survives in a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a male Bengal tiger that he called Richard Parker. They are adrift in the Pacific Ocean and when the tiger is hungry, he eats the other animals. Soon Pi learns that he might find a way to feed and domesticate the tiger to survive.
This movie will inspire you to believe that anything is possible. Pi is pushed into the most impossible situation, yet he is able to survive and conquer death. The cinematography is breathtaking, and you will see how beautiful the ocean can actually be. Scenes with the tiger were also quite scary. I wasn’t sure if the tiger was CGI or just well trained.
Overall, I would give this movie 8/10 stars. Check it out! Happy Viewing
