Saturday October 22nd, 2011 was our monthly Dynamic Wellness 3K Prediction Run. Each runner had to predict how fast they could finish the 3 km out & back course and the winner was not the fastest person to finish, but the person whose predicted time was closest to their actual finishing time.
Entry fee was $5 where the winner was to receive half the money collected, while the other half of the money was going to be donated to the Arthritis Society.
20 runners from Mississauga, Burlingtonand Torontostarted out at 10:30amin the beautiful fall weather. The winner was John Carrol with a time difference of 3 seconds. John was finally able to pull off the win after coming in 2nd & 3rd in previous prediction runs. John generously donated his winnings to the Arthritis Society. Vinz Pingol came in 2nd place with at time difference of 5 seconds, while Bruce Campbell was 3rd with a time difference of 7 seconds.
Lorna Catrambone from the Arthritis Society spoke to the competitors during the post event festivities. She was thankful for the generous donation and educated everyone on the prevalence of Arthritis in our community, and the different programs the Arthritis Society offers.
Refreshments were served after the event and complimentary 10 minute massages by RMT – Leslie LaRue were also offered for the runners.
Nordixx Pole Walking instructor, Sara Bannerman-Maxwell is scheduled to attend the Saturday November 19th prediction run to give a special interactive-presentation on Nordic Pole Walking.
