Saturday January 21st, 2011 was our monthly Dynamic Wellness 3K Prediction Run. Each runner had to predict how fast they could finish the 3 km out & back course and the winner was not the fastest person to finish, but the person whose predicted time was closest to their actual finishing time.
Entry fee was $5 where the winner was to receive half the money collected, while the other half of the money was going to be donated to the Arthritis Society.
18 runners & walkers started out at 10:30amin the chilly yet beautiful winter weather. The winner was Oakvillenative, Ryan Fitzsimmons who matched his personal best with a time difference of 1 second. Shannon Cole, came in 2nd place with at time difference of 6 seconds, while multiple past winner, Bruce Campbell & newcomer Morgan Gadsby were tied for 3rd with a time difference of 8 seconds.
Lorna Catrambone from the Arthritis Society spoke to the competitors during the post event festivities. She was thankful for the generous donation and educated everyone on the prevalence of Arthritis in our community, and the different programs the Arthritis Society offers.
Refreshments were served after the event and complimentary 10 minute massages by RMT – Leslie LaRue were also offered for the runners.
