Here’s another Blog from a Mississauga Chiropractor…

Just watched Conan the Barbarian (2011), staring Jason Momoa (Stargate: Atlantis), Ron Perlman (Hellboy) & Rose McGowan (Charmed).

A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for Conan (Jason Momoa), the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil.

This new reincarnation of Conan the Barbarian was just okay for me.  I was expecting a beefier and more muscular warrior like in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1982 edition of Conan the Barbarian.  This edition of Conan was skinnier, but more skilled with the sword and fist.  The story line and acting was pretty lacking in this movie, but what would you expect from a movie about a barbarian.  There were a lot of battle scenes, most of them too graphic for kids.

Overall, I’d give this movie 5/10 stars.  Wait for the DVD or television edition.  Happy Viewing!
